Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy based on the theory that thoughts, feelings, what we do and how our body feels are all connected. If we change one of these we can alter the others. When people feel worried or distressed we often fall into patterns of thinking and responding that can be very unhelpful. CBT works to help us notice and change unhelpful thinking styles or behaviours.
We currently offer CBT via Zoom.
Face to face CBT is offered at our sister company, Lewis Psychology CIC.
Types of CBT therapy
In addition to providing classical CBT and Cognitive Therapy (CT) we offer what is considered “third wave” or third generation CBT including:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Schema Therapy
Don’t worry, you do not have to choose your preferred model from the list above. Your online CBT therapist will tailor your treatment to suit your presenting issue, your personality and your therapy goals.
